

The 1905 Orchestra plans on performing throughout the Northwest in the coming months. Aaron Barnes (of The 1905) and co-director Matt Sazima will present a program of contemporary big band originals along with a few classics. This newly formed twelve-piece orchestra will feature some of Portland’s top musicians. The group consists of Tony Coleman, drums Lloyd Jones, guitar Mike Osborn, guitar John Mazzacco, bass Louis Pain, organ Chris Mercer, saxophone and Joe Mc Carthy, trumpet. King, Otis Clay, Bobby Blue Bland, Johnnie Taylor, Albert King, Albert Collins, Etta James, James Cotton, Katie Webster, Z.Z. The entire band includes Eddie Martinez, guitar Ramsey Embick, keys John Mazzocco, bass Reinhardt Melz, drum Louis Livermore, trumpet Dave Mills, trumpet Gary Harris, tenor sax Lars Campbell, trombone and two surprise vocalists.ĩ:00 pm – Tony Coleman playing Tribute to the Three Kings: BB, Albert, and Freddieĭrummer Tony Coleman has had an illustrious career touring the world with B.B. For this weekend, Eddie is adding the Soul Vax Horns to his quartet. Hailing from New York City, guitarist Eddie Martinez spent decades as one of rock’s premier session and touring players, lending an emotive blues-inflected touch to several broadly successful records by the likes of Patti LaBelle, Steve Winwood, David Lee Roth and Robert Palmer (Duran Duran). The band includes Ramsey Embick on keys Doug Lewis on guitar Mary Tucker, vocals Tim Kendall, vocals Rusty Cox, drums/vocals and Randy Smith, bass/vocals. With its pulsing beat, soul-stirring vocals and compelling message, BridgeCity Soul does an amazing job of representing the Soul/R&B idiom. The trio includes Lauren on guitar, Ronnie Ontiveros on upright bass and Fres Ingrams on percussion.

Lauren Sheehan brings her down-home country blues uptown, mixing old blues, early jazz, and roots of country for a bluesbilly-good-time sound. Please remember to protect yourself with sunscreen! STEELE CITY JAZZ FESTIVAL FREE
This is a free event, but you will have many opportunities to support the festival through cash donations and purchasing drinks from the beer and wine garden! There will be food carts and booths so you won't need to bring any nourishment with you. The Cathedral Park Jazz Festival is live for our 42nd anniversary of this landmark jazz festival! The event will be held from July 15th to the 17th.
